Getting Started
To join the Utah Civil War Association, contact our recruitment officer at beckstrandjake@yahoo.com. You can also join at one of our events or meetings.

Civilian, medical, and enlisted military impressions are welcome.

Every member must be familiar with our safety information and take the safety quiz.

All new members are required to fill out our New Member Application and deliver it to one of the commanding offers.

What Will It Cost?
As a recruit, you will need to equip yourself with a uniform and a weapon.

Annual dues:    $15 dollars for individual    $20 dollars for family

Equipment

To purchase all your equipment at once can be quite a daunting task. Therefore we recommend that it is purchased slowly over time.  The following is a list of necessary equipment for a few different impressions.  We highly recommend that you talk with one of our veteran members before buying anything.  There is a wealth of information available; members can help you save money and develop a great impression.

Mainstream Sutlers- You can get everything you need from any of these sutlers. The good news is they are much cheaper than the progressive sutlers listed below, and thus great for a reenactor on a budget. The bad news is they are not nearly as authentic as the the progressive sutlers. We do welcome both.

Fall Creek Sutler - Slow delivery, not so polite.

Frazer Brothers - Excellent leathers and quick delivery.

Blockade Runner - General Sutler with some good specials.

Regimental Quatermaster - One of the best.

CD Jarnaginco  - Old and trusted sutler.

Progressive Sutlers- The gear you get from these is some of the best on the market. Some groups we fall in with require items from these sutlers.

Military Impressions (Please speak with a member of the group before buying anything)

Confederate Uniform

    1. Jacket/Coat - Our first preference is an enlisted frock coat or civilian sack coat. Our second preference is a four button mystery jacket or a commutation jacket without trim. Because we travel out of state, a frock coat will work for almost any theater of war during any time.
